A Glimmer, A Beginning – The Emaux Emoi Workshop Opens Its Doors

There are places that aren’t born from plans or calculations.
They rise slowly, through detours and silences.
They ripen over time, shaped by hands and longing,
until one day, they become a space that breathes.

ÉMAUX ÉMOI is one of these places.
A studio nestled under a 16th-century arcade in Arinthod,
a small Jura village where copper regains its brilliance,
and wool curls into its wild spirit again.
A living workshop, shaped by ancestral gestures, reclaimed materials,
gentle fires, and raw instinct..

This place is an extension of myself—
twenty years of spinning wool, hammering copper,
listening to what hands can say
when the mind goes still.
It is a tribute to powerful, forgotten women,
to unruly materials, and to emotions left unpolished.
It is also a way to reconnect creation with ethics,
with locality, with sustainability, with humble beauty.

Everything here is handmade.
Enameled copper jewelry, shaped one by one, carrying their own stories.
Fibers chosen with care, spun on a wheel,
dyed like a memory unwinding.
Textiles born from poetic threads and suspended time.
And images, too—photography is how I catch what trembles and glows..

ÉMAUX ÉMOI is also an invitation.
To slow down. To feel.
To prefer the raw over the polished.
To return to what makes sense.

This blog is the voice of the studio.
A place for sharing, behind-the-scenes glimpses,
fragments of life and making.
Here I’ll leave thoughts, quiet wanderings,
traces of fire and wool,
stories of metal, and forgotten crafts.

Thank you for being here, at the very beginning.
Thank you for stepping inside.
This journey is just beginning.
